I purchased this screen in August (even after I read the horrible reviews) but did not get the chance to hang it until mid September. As soon as I removed from the box I knew immediately that the tension rod was worthless. The screen fell straight to the floor and would not retract. By this time Amazon's 30 day return period had just passed and they wouldn't even exchange it (I guess they knew it was a piece of junk too)so the Amazon rep told me to use the 1 yr warranty to replace it. THAT WAS THE BEST ADVICE EVER. Elite's customer service was great!!!! I received a replacement screen in about 10 days. Once hung, the screen retracts smoothly with no special tricks to get it up...so in a nut shell buy the screen at the next to nothing cost that Amazon sells it for and if you get a bad screen use the warranty. This is an excellent screen. The construction is great and the screen stays stretched nice and tight. My only complaint would be that the silver frame reflects light so you need to be sure you aim your projector properly and dont have too much overscan. I purchased this TV a week ago. It arrived on a Friday; I took it out of the packaging and put it on the stand on Saturday; I went through the menus and set it up on Sunday; and Monday the screen wouldn't come on (and hasn't come on since).

I opened a service ticket with Samsung with my warranty: they sent a tech out to my house to replace the system board, which had no effect. So I'm now waiting on a replacement DMD board, but they're out of stock, so this may be a while.

This screen has to be one of the cheapest pieces of junk, if going to retract it up and down alot, don't buy it. If you want really good picture quality don't buy it, I can spot all the little shiny dots and I'm using a benq w500 hd projector, if for instance you are watching something bright like hockey, all over the white ice i can just pick up on all the flaws of the screen. Warrenty is like dealing with a bunch of pot heads, won't get no place with the.
